Ukraine Unlikely to Face Food Shortages Despite Russian Strikes

Ukraine's Agriculture Minister Taras Vysotsky has stated that the country is not likely to experience food shortages due to Russian strikes and a naval blockade. He noted that Ukraine produces the vast majority of its own food supply, including grain, flour, and baked goods.

Vysotsky explained that while Ukraine faces logistics challenges in managing its food production, it has sufficient domestic production volumes to meet national consumption needs. The primary challenge is in managing logistics due to disrupted supply chains.

The minister listed products for which Ukraine is fully self-sufficient, including grain, flour, and baked goods, vegetables such as potatoes and carrots, and export staples like sugar and vegetable oil.
