Ukraine's Agri Exports Stalled as Disruptions at Traditional Ports Continue
Ukraine's agricultural exports remain sluggish as logistics shifts to alternative routes due to disruptions at traditional ports. In August, the country exported only 640,000 metric tons of agri-products, a relatively slow pace compared to previous months.
The attacks on vessels and port infrastructure have severely impacted operations at the Pivdennyi-Odesa-Chornomorsk ports (POC). Rebuilding logistics that were effective in 2026 will take time, and low domestic grain prices, as well as other constraints, are delaying farmers' sales.
As a result, expensive alternative logistics are reducing both farmers' and exporters' margins. Despite the growing role of railway routes and Danube ports, exports remain low, with road transport increasing marginally due to high trucking costs.
