Russia's grain exports are under threat as Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian ships and ports in the Black Sea could soon shut down grain shipments.

The Russia Union of Grain Exporters and Producers warned that systematic attacks since July have put global food security at risk, particularly in Africa and the Middle East.

The union estimated a 30-35 million metric ton shortfall in wheat supply to other countries this season, accounting for around 15 per cent of total global wheat trade. This is due to disruptions to shipping caused by Ukrainian attacks on dry cargo vessels and port infrastructure.
