Ukraine's Corn Prices Fall Amid Global Market Surge
Corn prices are rising globally due to various factors, but Ukraine's corn market is experiencing a decline in prices. The increase in global prices can be attributed to several events, including damage to civilian vessels and grain terminals in Ukrainian Black Sea ports, which has led to the suspension of loading operations.
This development has caused international traders to stop purchasing corn at ports for an indefinite period. As a result, processors have reduced their buying prices by UAH 500-1000/t to UAH 8000-8500/t with delivery to factories. Domestic prices for feed wheat and barley are also falling.
Despite high demand from European buyers, it is challenging to find quotas for transshipment and shipment of corn by rail until October-November due to increased demand for rapeseed transshipment at terminals on the western border and demand for European trains.
