Ukraine's Early Grain Harvest Nears Completion
Ukrainian farmers have made significant progress in harvesting early grains, with 58% of the projected area already completed by August 25. According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, a total of 31.73 million tonnes of new-crop grain has been threshed at an average yield of 47 centners per hectare.
The largest share of the harvest comes from wheat, with 24.61 million tonnes collected from 5 million hectares (97% of the area) at an average yield of 49.2 centners per hectare. Barley harvest stands at 6.32 million tonnes from 1.46 million hectares (98%) at 43.4 centners per hectare.
The regions with the highest grain yields were Khmelnytskyi (70.8 centners per hectare), Sumy (60.1) and Vinnytsia (59.7). The largest volumes of early grains and pulses were collected in Odesa, Kirovohrad and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
