Ukraine's Export Volume Slips Amid Maritime Blockade Challenges
Ukraine's agricultural sector continues to face export challenges due to blocked sea routes. Between August 1 and 26, the country exported approximately 1.42 million tonnes of farm products.
This volume includes grain and oilseed crops, as well as processed products. According to Minister Taras Vysotskyi, actual shipments account for about one-third of the potentially possible exports for this period.
The main agricultural export routes in August were rail transport, handling 600,000 tonnes, and the Danube route, also handling 600,000 tonnes. Road transport accounted for around 80,000 tonnes, but remains the smallest export channel due to high logistics costs.
The government continues to introduce support measures for agricultural businesses, including extending the deadline for repatriating export proceeds from grain, oilseed, and processed product exports from 120 to 150 days.
