Ukraine's Grain Exports Boom in 2026/27 Season
Ukraine's grain exports have surged in the 2026/27 season, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Agriculture. As of July 27, Ukraine had exported a total of 2.36 million tonnes of grains, up by 81.7% compared to the same period last year.
The ministry reported that wheat exports reached 960,000 tonnes, a significant increase of 97.3% year-on-year. Corn exports also saw a sharp rise, reaching 1.21 million tonnes and surpassing last year's figure by 97.2%. Meanwhile, barley exports totaled 180,000 tonnes, down 4.2% from the previous year.
The increase in global grain supplies is expected to exert upward pressure on prices, which could be bearish for corn and wheat markets. However, the marginal tightening of barley supplies may have a slightly bullish effect on its price.
