Ukraine's Grain Exports Plummet Amid Sea Corridor Halt
Ukraine's grain exports have plummeted to 590,000 tonnes since August 1, which is only 30% of its monthly needs. According to Agrarian Policy Minister Taras Vysotsky, this decline is due to the halt of the sea corridor since late July.
Vysotsky stated that Ukraine has sufficient permanent grain storage capacity but faces a shortfall of 8-11 million tonnes in November after the corn harvest. To address this issue, officials have requested $10 million in funding from international partners.
The minister acknowledged that even with some opportunities to partially increase exports, without the resumption of Black Sea port operations, Ukraine's grain exports would only reach up to 50% of its needs.
