Ukraine's Grain Storage Crisis Looms Amid Export Delays
Ukraine is at risk of facing a significant grain storage deficit due to limited export pace and blocked port operations. Minister Taras Vysotskyi stated that Ukraine may experience a deficit in internal capacities for storing grains of 8-11 million tons in November.
The situation arises from the difficulty in predicting corn yields, but the ministry is aiming for maximum yields. To address this issue, Ukraine has turned to international partners for assistance with temporary storage facilities, grain bags that can store up to 250 tons of grain in one bag.
Vysotskyi confirmed $10 million in assistance from international partners and stated that the World Bank funding will cover an additional 6 million tons or more. This aid is expected to help Ukraine cover the critical situation and ensure adequate resources for storing grain.
