Ukraine's Wheat Market Continues Downward Price Trend
Ukraine's wheat market continued to be dominated by a downward price trend last week, according to experts at APK-Inform. The moderate demand from traders and sufficient supply of wheat on the market put pressure on prices, causing most buyers not to rush purchases.
Some farmers were hesitant to sell their wheat at prevailing prices, while only some processors that urgently needed large volumes were willing to slightly raise prices. As a result, bid prices for feed wheat and Class 2 wheat remained in the range of 5,500-7,800 UAH per ton and 6,600-8,100 UAH per ton CPT, respectively.
At Ukrainian ports, prices for food-grade and feed wheat increased by $2-5 per ton, reaching $165-175 per ton and $158-166 per ton CPT-port, respectively. Despite this increase, the overall trend in the market remains downward.
