Ukraine's Wheat Market Stalls Over EU Quota Shortage
The Ukrainian wheat market is experiencing sluggish trade due to a shortage of EU quotas and logistical challenges at the western border. According to consulting firm Barva Invest, prices for Ukrainian wheat with an 11.5% protein content on a DAP-Danube basis are currently standing at $166-168 per metric ton.
An imbalance between supply and demand persists in the market, analysts note. The shortage of EU quotas is contributing to the slowdown in trading activity, which is also being held back by logistics booked months in advance and the absence of panic among importers.
