The Union of Grain Exporters and Producers of Russia stated that the disruption of navigation in the Black Sea caused by Ukrainian attacks poses a direct threat to global food security. They believe that importers are not currently experiencing a grain shortage due to existing reserves, but the consequences of the current crisis will soon affect many states.
The Russian organization noted that a Ukrainian drone caused 'significant damage' to a large grain export terminal in the Russian port of Taman earlier this month. They claim that the 'systematic attacks' by Ukraine could lead to the 'complete blockade of export corridors in the Black Sea basin.'
