Ukrainian Farmers Reap Record Crop Grain Harvest Amid Storage Capacity Concerns

Ukrainian farmers have made significant progress in harvesting their crops, with nearly half of the planned areas already harvested by mid-August. According to Finway, as of August 11, Ukrainian agricultural producers had harvested crops from an area of 5.63 million hectares, collecting over 26 million tons of new crop grain.

The largest harvest was from wheat, with 19.74 million tons collected, followed by barley with 5.68 million tons and peas with 712.3 thousand tons. The average yield for wheat was 48.5 quintals per hectare, while barley yielded 44.1 quintals per hectare.

The top three regions in terms of harvested grain were Odesa, Kirovohrad, and Mykolaiv, with Odesa harvesting the most at 4.06 million tons. The highest grain yields were recorded in Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil, and Vinnytsia regions.

In related news, rapeseed harvesting is ongoing, with 1,190.7 thousand hectares already harvested, resulting in a total of 3.22 million tons with an average yield of 27.1 quintals per hectare.
