Ukrainian Grain Exports Plummet Threefold in August

Ukraine's grain exports in August were significantly lower than the same period last year, according to data from the State Customs Service of Ukraine. As of August 28, Ukraine had exported a total of 3.519 million tons of grain and pulses since the start of the 2026/27 MY. Of this amount, 774 thousand tons were shipped in August.

This compares to last year's totals, when 4.014 million tons of grain and pulses were exported by August 29, with 2.349 million tons shipped in August alone.

The data also breaks down the exports by crop: wheat (1.584 million tons, including 512 thousand tons in August), barley (363 thousand tons, or 64 thousand tons in August), rye (0.2 thousand tons), and corn (1.511 million tons, with 197 thousand tons exported in August).

Total exports of Ukrainian flour since the start of the season as of August 28 were estimated at 13.3 thousand tons (11.4 thousand tons in August). Wheat flour accounted for 12.9 thousand tons (11.1 thousand tons) of this total.
