Ukrainian Grain Market Sees Mixed Trends Amid Global Price Slump
The Ukrainian grain market showed mixed trends this week, with feed wheat prices rising significantly while food-grade wheat, corn, and sunflower seeds fell in price.
According to AgroTender, the average purchase price of feed wheat in Ukraine rose by approximately 950 UAH per metric ton, or 16%, over the week. The most significant increase occurred in the south and port regions, with prices rising by about 2,000 UAH per metric ton.
On the other hand, food-grade wheat lost an average of about 300 UAH per metric ton, with prices falling in central, northern, and western regions. Corn prices fell by approximately 750 UAH per metric ton over the week, with the sharpest decline recorded in the south - about 2,600 UAH.
Sunflower seeds also continued to fall in price, dropping an average of about 250 UAH per metric ton, or 1.3%, over the week. Prices fell in most regions, although sunflower seeds actually rose slightly in price at ports.
