Ukrainian Strikes Cripple Russia's Oil Output

Russia's oil production declined in August due to Ukrainian strikes on refineries and ports.

The country produced an average of 8.718 million barrels of oil per day, down from its July average by 160,000 barrels a day, marking the largest monthly decline since December 2025, according to OPEC's monthly report.

This drop in production leaves Russia further below its allotted OPEC+ quota, which it is currently 1.17 million barrels per day short of meeting.
