Ukrainian Suspect Arrested Over 2022 Nord Stream Pipeline Explosions
A Ukrainian man wanted in Germany for his suspected involvement in the 2022 Nord Stream pipeline explosions has been arrested in Croatia.
The suspect, identified as Vladimir Z., is a trained scuba diver who allegedly belonged to a group that planted explosives on the pipelines in the Baltic Sea near Denmark's Bornholm island.
The undersea blasts damaged both Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2, which were designed to transport Russian natural gas to Germany. The incident heightened tensions over the war in Ukraine as European countries sought to reduce their reliance on Russian energy sources.
