Ukrainian Wheat Prices Tumble Amid Export Market Woes
Ukraine's wheat prices have been declining gradually over the past week, according to analysts from APK-Inform. The decrease is attributed to a combination of factors, including further declines on the export market and a near-complete halt in exports. This has put pressure on prices, with most millers reporting extremely limited supplies of high-quality wheat.
As a result, farmers have been offering mainly Class 3 wheat and feed wheat, while refusing to lower their asking prices. Only those producers who urgently need to replenish working capital are actively selling grain.
The bid prices for Class 2 wheat and feed wheat were mostly quoted at UAH 7,200-9,000 per ton CPT and UAH 5,700-8,000 per ton CPT, respectively. At Ukrainian ports, prices for milling wheat and feed wheat fell by $8-20 per ton to $170-190 per ton CPT port and $155-175 per ton CPT port, respectively.
