UN Security Council Convenes Amid Ongoing Russian Aggression Against Ukraine
The UN Security Council will convene on Ukraine's Independence Day to discuss the consequences of Russia's ongoing war against the country. According to Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, the discussion will focus on Russia's relentless and escalating missile and drone terror against civilians across Ukraine.
On Friday, a double strike on a shopping center in Kryvyi Rih killed 16 people and injured 130, including more than 20 children. The death toll from the attack has risen to 162. Ukraine is also calling attention to Russia's ongoing attacks on Ukrainian ports and obstruction of grain exports.
The Foreign Minister emphasized that these actions deepen the global food crisis and endanger millions of people far beyond Ukraine. He thanked Denmark for convening these urgent debates and expressed gratitude to all partners standing with Ukraine at the UN.
