Uniper, a European energy company, has signed a landmark long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) agreement with Canada's Ksi Lisims LNG project. The deal marks the first major long-term LNG supply arrangement between Canada and Germany and strengthens their strategic energy partnership.

The agreement will see Uniper purchase 2 million tonnes of LNG per year on a free-on-board basis for up to 20 years, with first deliveries expected from 2032. This represents a significant step in diversifying Uniper's global LNG portfolio and ensuring security of supply in Europe.

Ksi Lisims LNG project is designed to be one of the lowest-emission LNG facilities globally through hydroelectric power. The innovative LNG export terminal adds a differentiated source of supply to Uniper's portfolio, supporting its ambition to build a more resilient and increasingly diversified energy system.
