UP Gets First Multi-Unit Plant with Ethanol and Sugar Production
Uttar Pradesh is set to get its first multi-unit plant in Chhata, Mathura, which will produce ethanol and sugar. The project will be built at a cost of Rs 200-250 crore and will be completed in three phases.
The first phase involves setting up an ethanol plant with a capacity of 120 KLPD. This plant will produce approximately 36.9 million liters of ethanol from sugarcane molasses, as well as corn and rice during the off-season.
The second phase will involve setting up a sugar mill to produce sugar from sugarcane, while the third phase will include a co-generation plant for electricity generation.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will lay the foundation stone for this project soon. The government had previously issued tenders six times to restart the Chhata Sugar Mill but received no applications.
