UP Gets Its First Multi-Unit Ethanol and Sugar Plant in Mathura
The state of Uttar Pradesh is set to get its first multi-unit ethanol and sugar plant in Chhata, Mathura. The project will be built at a cost of Rs 200-250 crore and will be completed in three phases.
Phase one will see the establishment of a 120 KLPD capacity ethanol plant that will produce ethanol from sugarcane molasses during peak seasons and corn and rice during off-seasons. This plant is expected to operate for 11 months, producing approximately 36.9 million liters of ethanol per year.
Phase two will involve the construction of a sugar mill plant to enable sugar production from sugarcane. Phase three will see the installation of a co-generation plant that will enable electricity generation.
The project is expected to provide employment to thousands of youth in and around Mathura, while also ensuring fair prices for farmers' crops. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will soon lay the foundation stone for this ambitious project.
