The conflict between the US and Iran continues to escalate, with both sides showing no signs of backing down. The US military has disabled another merchant vessel, the M/T Lavine, after it attempted to breach the naval blockade in the Gulf of Oman.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard has targeted several American strongholds around the Persian Gulf, including a base in Kuwait and a watchtower for the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has struck the port city of Hodeida in Yemen in response to attacks on its oil tankers by the Iran-backed Houthi rebels.

The US Central Command said that it disabled the M/T Lavine after it ignored multiple warnings and attempted to run the blockade at least four times. This is the second commercial ship to be disabled since the military reimposed its blockade, with 12 vessels redirected as a result.
