US and Saudi Strikes Target Iran-Backed Militias in Iraq, Killing Dozens

US and Saudi forces launched strikes against Iranian-backed militias in Iraq on Wednesday, killing at least 20 fighters and six Iranian advisers. The attacks came after the US and its allies intercepted five Iranian missiles fired at Jordan's Muwaffaq Salti Air Base.

The strikes targeted multiple logistics and weapons sites in eastern Iraq, with the US and Saudi fighter aircraft participating in the operation. The Iraqi government condemned the attacks, stating that 'a number of innocent people' were killed and wounded.

Oil prices surged following the renewed hostilities, with Brent crude rising 7.3% to $88.093 a barrel.
