US Backs LNG, Nuclear Projects in Philippines Amid China Supply-Chain Fears
The US government is planning to support liquefied natural gas and nuclear projects in the Philippines as part of its effort to lower electricity costs and counter China's supply-chain influence.
According to USTDA head Thomas Hardy, the US Trade and Development Agency is working with the Philippine government and companies, including San Miguel Corp. and Manila Electric Co., to improve power generation and transmission in the country.
The goal of this initiative is to create an investment belt that will attract businesses and lower electricity costs for consumers.
