US Becomes India's Largest LNG Supplier as Qatar Imports Plummet
The US has surpassed Qatar as India's largest supplier of liquefied natural gas (LNG) during May-July 2026, according to a report by Equirus Securities.
India imported around 7.08 million tonnes (MT) of LNG during the three months, up 15% from a year earlier.
The US supplied 2.19 MT, followed by Nigeria at 1.31 MT, Oman at 1.22 MT and Angola at 0.80 MT. Qatar supplied only 0.23 MT during the period.
