US Copper Plate Prices Surge on Tight Supply and Infrastructure Demand
The US Copper Plate market showed renewed strength in late August as prices rose by 1.50% in the final week due to tight feedstock supply and infrastructure demand.
This rebound followed a choppy trend through August, with early-month gains giving way to a mid-month pullback before upward momentum reasserted itself.
The COMEX Copper Plate futures had touched all-time peaks in three of four sessions but retreated ahead of the Federal Reserve's Jackson Hole symposium, with September delivery declining by 0.65% to approximately $3,045 per tonne.
Demand fundamentals remained broadly constructive for Copper Plate across key end-use sectors, driven by the electrification theme and federal grid modernization contracts.
