US Corn Futures Rise Ahead of Crucial USDA Report
Corn futures rose early Monday as traders positioned themselves ahead of an upcoming USDA report. The September corn contract was up around 2-3 cents, building on a steady-to-firmer session on Friday.
The USDA reported a private sale of 286,097 MT of corn to Mexico, with 29,808 MT designated for the 2026/27 marketing year and 256,289 MT for 2027/28. Analysts in a Reuters survey predicted U.S. corn yield at 182.4 bushels per acre, with production estimated at 15.934 billion bushels.
CFTC data released Friday showed managed money accounts increasing their net long exposure in corn futures and options by around 13,547 contracts during the week of August 4.
