US Crude Oil Stockpiles Edge Up, Gasoline Supplies Fall
The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that crude oil inventories in the United States saw an increase of 100,000 barrels during the week ending August 21.
This brings commercial stockpiles to 428.9 million barrels, which are now 1% above the five-year average for this time of year.
The EIA's data release follows API's figures that were released a day earlier, which reported that crude oil inventories had risen by 4.2 million barrels in the period.
