US Crude Output and Petroleum Demand Surge in June Amid Record Highs
The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) released its Petroleum Supply Monthly report, revealing that domestic crude oil output and demand for petroleum products rose in June.
Crude production reached a new high of 13.79 million barrels per day (bpd), surpassing the previous month's total by 3,000 bpd. This marks the second-highest monthly record high since October 2025, when output peaked at 14.00 million bpd.
Demand for crude oil and petroleum products also saw an increase, reaching 20.74 million bpd in June, up from May's total of 20.07 million bpd. This is still shy of the monthly record high of 21.67 million bpd set in August 2005.
Natural gas production also rose, with U.S. gross output hitting 135.5 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd) in June. However, this remains short of the monthly record high of 136.0 bcfd recorded in December 2025.
