US Denies Claims of Iran Retaliation Strike on American Vessels

The United States has denied claims by Iran's Revolutionary Guard that its forces struck two American vessels in retaliation for earlier strikes. The U.S. Central Command stated that 'no U.S. Navy warship has been struck; all IRGC attempted attacks failed.'

The incident comes as the U.S. and Iran have traded new attacks in the Persian Gulf, rekindling hostilities in the region. In recent days, the U.S. military destroyed 10 Iranian tankers, including five on Tuesday, which were part of a multibillion-dollar shadow network that funds the IRGC.

Brent crude hit $100 a barrel on Wednesday due to the conflict, which has been ongoing in one of the world's most critical oil corridors. The U.S. warship successfully evaded an Iranian attack earlier this week, and no American personnel were harmed, according to Centcom.
