US Destroys Five Iranian Oil Carriers Amid Escalating Tensions
The US military has destroyed five Iranian crude oil carriers in retaliation for IRGC attacks on a US Navy warship over the past two days, according to a statement from the U.S. Central Command.
The warship successfully evaded the attempted Iranian attacks with ballistic missiles and continued to patrol regional waters.
Following the incidents, Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency reported that an Iranian oil tanker was targeted in a US missile attack four miles off Iran's southern Kharg Island on Tuesday, causing no casualties.
The IRGC Navy warned all crew members of oil tankers at piers in Kuwait and Bahrain to immediately evacuate from their vessels, citing the 'terrorist U.S. Army's malicious actions' targeting several Iranian oil tankers.
