US forces responded to Iran's recent missile attacks on a warship by destroying five Iranian crude oil carriers in the Gulf of Oman and near Kharg Island. According to CENTCOM, the vessels targeted were M/T Kaviz, M/T Charminar, M/T Horizon 1, M/T Riesco, and M/T Derya. Before striking the ships, American forces directed the crews to abandon them.

The US military claimed that Iran has used these tankers as part of a multibillion-dollar shadow network that funds the IRGC and its regional proxies. CENTCOM stated that Iran has no means by which to defend these vessels.
