US Destroys Five Iranian Oil Tankers in Response to Aggression
US forces responded to Iranian aggression by destroying five oil tankers linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the Gulf of Oman. The move comes after the IRGC targeted a US Navy warship with ballistic missiles twice over the past two days, with the ship successfully evading both attacks and continuing to patrol regional waters.
No American personnel were injured in the attempted Iranian attacks, according to CENTCOM. In response, US forces directed the crews of the five oil tankers to abandon their vessels before striking them and rendering them inoperable.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that 'Iran continues to try to hit US naval ships. For every time they do that or try to do that, they're going to lose tankers.'
