US Destroys Five Iranian Oil Tankers in Retaliation for Ballistic Missile Attacks
US forces took action against Iranian oil tankers after they were targeted by ballistic missiles. The US Navy warship was attacked twice in two days, but successfully evaded both attacks and continued patrolling regional waters.
No American personnel were injured in the incident, according to CENTCOM. In response to the attacks, CENTCOM destroyed five Iranian crude oil tankers, including M/T Kaviz, M/T Charminar, M/T Horizon 1, M/T Riesco, and M/T Derya.
The vessels were part of a 'multibillion-dollar shadow network' that funds the IRGC and its regional proxies. CENTCOM stated that Iran has no means to defend these vessels.
