US Destroys Iranian Oil Tankers as Escalating Conflict Hits Global Energy Markets
The US military has taken a hard stance against Iran's oil tankers in the Middle East, disabling or destroying three separate vessels following a confrontation between American warships and Iranian missile attacks.
The US Central Command confirmed that American Navy warships, including an aircraft carrier and a destroyer, evaded multiple unprovoked missile attacks. Instead of absorbing the blow, the US military retaliated with force, permanently disabling two crude oil carriers linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and wiping out a third unladen vessel in the Gulf of Oman.
Admiral Brad Cooper warned that Washington will destroy Iran's limited and exposed oil fleet if these attacks continue. The strategic move is aimed at crippling Iran's financial lifeblood by choking off its crude exports through vital chokepoints like Kharg Island and Jask.
