US Destroys Iranian Oil Tankers in Retaliation for Ballistic Missile Attempts
US forces have destroyed five Iranian oil tankers in response to two attempts to hit a US Navy warship with ballistic missiles. The targeted tankers belonged to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and their crews were told to abandon ship before they were 'rendered inoperable.'
The US military stated that the American ship was not hit and is still patrolling regional waters. There were no reported injuries to US personnel.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said, 'When they try to hit U.S. naval ships, they will get hit themselves... For every time they do that, or try to do that, they're going to lose tankers.'
