US Diesel Prices Reach Record High Amid Iran Conflict
Diesel prices in the United States have reached an all-time high due to the ongoing conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran. The average price of diesel has climbed to $5.85 per gallon, surpassing the previous record set following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The American Automobile Association reports that this is a significant increase from last year, when diesel prices averaged $3.71 per gallon. Wholesale oil prices have surged since the Iran conflict began in late February.
US President Donald Trump has pledged to lower gas prices for Americans through an agreement with Venezuela to develop 17 strategic oil fields with a potential of 65 billion barrels. However, some analysts are skeptical about the deal's success in overcoming challenges that have discouraged investment in Venezuela's oil industry.
