US Diesel Prices Soar Past $6 Per Gallon Amid Middle East Tensions
The price of diesel fuel in the United States has hit an all-time high, surpassing $6 per gallon for the first time ever. This comes as Brent crude oil trades around $105 a barrel and West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil rose above $100 a barrel on September 10th.
The average price of diesel fuel across America has risen slightly above $6 a gallon, according to data from GasBuddy. This is an increase from the previous record high of $5.85 set just a week ago.
Prices for crude oil and related fuels continue to rise amid escalating military strikes in the Middle East between the US and Iran. Goldman Sachs has warned that crude oil prices could reach $120 a barrel if the fighting intensifies.
