US Electricity Sector Set for Record Growth Through 2027
The US electricity sector is expected to continue growing through 2027 due to increasing demand from businesses and industries. According to the Energy Information Administration (EIA), electricity generation in the United States will reach a record level in 2026, with a projected increase of 2.2%.
This growth is driven by expanding data centers and increased manufacturing activity across the country. The West South-Central region of the US remains a major contributor to overall electricity sales growth, despite some slowdown in new data center projects in Texas.
Oil production in the Middle East is expected to gradually recover as shipping activity improves through the Strait of Hormuz, although some supply limitations could remain. As a result, oil prices are expected to moderate during 2027 as inventories begin to recover.
