US Energy System Under Strain as Global Tensions Rise
The United States' energy system is facing a perfect storm of rising demand and geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Despite being well-shielded from external supply shocks, domestic production is under strain as record electricity demand pushes infrastructure to its limits.

The refining capacity is operating at near-record speeds, but gasoline stocks are about 9% below year-ago levels, indicating tight fuel inventories despite robust refining activity.
