US Establishes Secret Oil Corridor through Strait of Hormuz
The US military has established a secret oil corridor through the Strait of Hormuz to bypass Iran's efforts to disrupt global oil supplies. The operation, which began several weeks ago, allows approximately 15-20 tankers per night to travel through the southern channel of the strait along Oman's coast.
US officials estimate that nearly 10 million barrels of oil per day are now leaving the strait, about half the pre-war volume. The operation aims to ease one of the conflict's most significant economic consequences: the disruption of global oil supplies and the resulting rise in crude prices.
The US military is not only escorting tankers carrying oil out of the Gulf but also facilitating the movement of empty tankers from the Arabian Sea into the Gulf, allowing them to load oil at regional ports before returning through the strait.
