US Establishes Secret Shipping Corridor Through Hormuz Amid Iran Tensions
The US military has established a secret oil shipping corridor through the Strait of Hormuz to transport millions of barrels of oil daily, despite ongoing tensions with Iran.
According to Axios, which cited two US officials, this operation began several weeks ago and involves escorting tankers carrying about 10 million barrels of oil per day out of the Gulf and into global markets. This is roughly half the pre-war volume.
The corridor uses a southern channel along Oman's coast, where 15-20 tankers enter and exit each night under US military guidance. The operation is coordinated by a US task force based at Army headquarters in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, with regional Gulf partners.
