US Ethanol Production Down, DDGS Exports Reach Eight-Month High
The US Grains and Bioproducts Council released its weekly distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) export market prices report for September, showing average prices as of August 6. The CIF NOLA barge price was down $5 at $225 metric ton versus one week ago, while the FOB vessel Gulf price was down $1 at $243 metric ton.
The Energy Information Administration reported that ethanol production in the United States averaged 1.107 million barrels per day for the week ended July 31, a decrease of 26,000 bpd from the previous week but an increase of 14,000 bpd or 1.3% compared to the same week last year.
According to the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA), June exports of DDGS reached an eight-month high of 1.10 million metric tons, a 2% increase supported by stronger shipments to leading markets such as Mexico, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
