US Farm Prices Fall 1.4% Amid Diverging Crop, Livestock Trends
The National Agricultural Statistics Service released its June 2026 Agricultural Prices report, showing that the overall agricultural production index declined 1.4 percent from May to 138.7 on the 2011 base.
This decrease was largely due to lower prices for strawberries, broccoli, corn, and celery, which offset price gains for lettuce, cattle, lemons, and cantaloupes.
The crop production index fell 2.2 percent month over month but climbed 9.0 percent from the same period last year, while the livestock production index edged up 0.1 percent from May but dropped 6.8 percent from June 2025.
