The Joint Maritime Information Center (JMIC) has released an update on maritime security incidents recorded on Saturday, September 6, 2026. According to JMIC's report, three tankers were disabled by US forces near Iran.

The ships in question are the STARK 1, which was permanently disabled near Jask in the Gulf of Oman, the DOWNY, off Kharg Island, and the KYLO (also known as NOXEN) in the Gulf of Oman. These incidents contradict claims made by the Revolutionary Guards that its naval forces had struck three oil tankers and three US-linked vessels.
