US Gas Prices Decline Amid Crude Oil Price Volatility
Gas prices in West Central Kentucky have dropped by 17 cents this week to $3.473 per gallon, according to AAA East Central's Gas Price Report.
Nationally, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline has fallen nine cents over the past week to $4.00, with more than half of states paying below $4 per gallon on average.
The decrease in gas prices is attributed to lower crude oil prices, which have settled at around $80 per barrel due to uncertainty surrounding the Strait of Hormuz's operations. Additionally, gasoline demand has decreased slightly last week from 9.04 million barrels per day to 9.03 million, and total domestic gasoline supply has also decreased.
The national average price for electricity at a public EV charging station remains unchanged at 42 cents per kilowatt hour.
