US Gas Prices Plummet as Crude Oil Costs Fall

Gas prices have begun to fall across various regions in the US, including New York State. The national average for regular gasoline has dropped by 9 cents from last week's price of $4.10 to $4.01 per gallon. Crude oil prices are currently trading in the low-$80s per barrel range.

The New York State average stands at $4.16, down 6 cents from last Monday's price. Regional averages in Western and Central New York have also seen declines: Batavia ($4.23), Buffalo ($4.23), Elmira ($4.08), Ithaca ($4.21), Rochester ($4.23), Rome ($4.24), Syracuse ($4.16), and Watertown ($4.18).

Average gas prices are expected to continue their downward trend as schools and universities begin their fall semesters, resulting in fewer road trips.
