US Gas Prices Spike Ahead of Labor Day Amid Iran Tensions
Gas prices are creeping up just in time for Labor Day weekend, according to recent data from Triple A. The national average cost of a regular gallon of gas has risen to $4.08, marking an increase of one cent since yesterday.
This uptick comes on the heels of rising crude oil prices. Brent crude, the international benchmark, saw a 3.4% surge this morning, reaching just over $91 per barrel.
The price hike is linked to renewed tensions between the US and Iran, which has led to increased global demand for oil and subsequently driven up prices.
