US Grains Market Sees Steady Soybeans, Rising Corn, Falling Wheat
Soybean futures on the Chicago Board of Trade were relatively steady on Monday, despite earlier declines that were driven back by stronger crude oil prices.
The US Department of Agriculture reported soybean export inspections of 250,801 tonnes for the week ended August 27, down nearly 42% from the previous week. Year-to-date inspections reached 40.74 million tonnes compared to 49.81 million this time last year.
Corn futures inched up on Monday, caught between hikes in crude oil and losses in wheat. Corn export inspections improved to nearly 1.50 million tonnes from 1.32 million the previous week, with cumulative exports just short of 83.81 million tonnes versus 66.97 million a year ago.
The USDA attaché in New Delhi projected the 2026-27 Indian corn crop at 50 million tonnes compared to 55.09 million in 2025-26, while ending stocks are expected to tumble from 7.52 million tonnes in 2025-26 to 4.12 million in 2026-27.
